Transform Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers

Stunning Materials

Dr. Greene uses advanced dental ceramic to create veneers that mimic the qualities of natural teeth. He can carefully color-match the porcelain to the shade of your smile.

Versatile Results

Veneers offer a beautiful solution for a variety of imperfections, including chips, gaps, cracks, and misalignment. Dr. Greene can also use veneers to address stained teeth that do not respond to teeth whitening.

Do You Qualify for Porcelain Veneers?

Sufficient Enamel

Before traditional veneers are placed, a small amount of enamel must be removed to achieve a natural appearance, so patients with very worn or thin enamel might not be eligible. Those patients can ask about minimal and no-prep veneers, such as Lumineers®.

No Teeth Grinding

The clenching and grinding that characterizes bruxism can fracture porcelain. Patients can often protect their veneers with oral appliances. In other cases, your dentist might recommend resolving the issue before placing veneers.

Only Minor Misalignment

While veneers can conceal small gaps and minor misalignment, severely crooked teeth might require orthodontic treatment for the best results

Prepared for a Permanent Change

Veneers require permanent modifications to your teeth. This means that any teeth treated with veneers will always require some sort of restoration in the future. Minimal-prep veneers can provide a reversible alternative for candidates that qualify.

Will People Be Able to Tell I Have Veneers?

Until recently, veneers could appear too perfect, unnatural, or bulky. However, thanks to advances in dentistry and state-of-the-art materials, today's veneers are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Each patient's results will vary depending on their individual goals, but you can generally expect a brighter, more balanced, and more youthful-looking smile when you work with our practice in Stockbridge, GA.

Natural-Looking Enhancement

Before veneers

Stains and other damage compromised the appearance of this patient's teeth.

After veneers

Veneers provided a stunning rejuvenation by concealing these concerns.

The Dental Veneers Treatment Timeline

At your initial consultation at our Stockbridge dental practice, Dr. Greene will conduct a thorough evaluation of your teeth, learn about your cosmetic goals, and determine if veneers are right for you. We can also discuss alternative treatments such as dental bonding or crowns so you can make the most educated decision for yourself.

To begin the treatment process, our dentist will carefully remove a small amount of enamel from the surface of each treated tooth. This ensures the veneers can lay flat on the teeth for a natural look.

Impressions and Temporary Veneers

Once each treated tooth is prepped, our dentist will take impressions of your teeth to send to a trusted off-site dental lab. We will then place temporary dental veneers, which will be worn until your final restorations are ready for placement.

Dental technicians will use the impressions of your bite to create your porcelain veneers at an off-site dental lab. We have a great relationship with our lab and can ensure fully customized results for each patient.

After about two weeks, you'll return to our office for placement. Dr. Greene will remove the temporary veneers and assess your final veneers for proper fit and aesthetics. If you are happy with the appearance, Dr. Greene will permanently bond the veneers to your teeth using specialized dental cement.

Final Results

You can immediately enjoy all the benefits of your new smile. We will provide maintenance instructions to help your veneers last as long as possible. You must practice good oral hygiene and stay on top of your routine dental visits for the best results.

How To Protect Your New Smile

You can care for veneers just like natural teeth. However, you will need to take extra care to avoid:

  • Chewing on ice
  • Opening packages with your teeth
  • Biting your fingernails
  • Chewing on pens or other objects

If you play contact sports or grind your teeth, our dentist can provide a customized mouthguard to protect your new smile.

Alternatives to Veneers

Dental Bonding

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding uses tooth-colored resin to address a number of imperfections. The results do not as long as veneers, but it can be an excellent option for patients who are looking for a more affordable solution or who don't want to permanently alter their teeth. Our dentist is happy to help you determine which option is best for you.

Dental crowns are a versatile dentistry solution used mainly for restorative purposes. For example, if a tooth is weakened or broken, a crown provides strength and structure. If the tooth is mainly intact and the patient is interested in a purely cosmetic enhancement, we will probably recommend veneers.
